No need to name a file first. Just open the app and start writing. Fine-tune the text size, line spacing, paragraph spacing, indentation, and more to suit the way you write.
Autosave
Even before you save to a file, Plainsong keeps a backup, so you can restore your writing after closing the window. Once you save it as a text file, you can also turn on autosave to save your changes every time you edit.
Dark Mode support
Plainsong supports Dark Mode on macOS and is compatible with Ghostty theme files, so you can match the colors of your terminal and other apps.
Extensions you choose
Count the characters and words in your writing, or add a button to the top-right corner of the window that copies your text to the clipboard. Choose and add only the features you need, so you can stay focused on writing.
